Since the focus of the Fall 2006 newsletter is crafting web sites, we want to point you to a site that is well done and current. We would encourage you to take a look at Gateway Cathedral’s web site. (www.GatewayCathedral.org)Â
We have had the privilege of a long-standing relationship with this church and their pastor, Dr. Daniel Mercaldo. Pastor Mercaldo leads a body of believers who have a vital outreach to the community that surrounds them through a vibrant music, dance and drama ministry. At Christmas time they present the story of God’s love through creative means. The people of Gateway truly join in unity to make blessings flow to all who come to partake of their offering. As you can see from Gateway’s web site, they are a forward-looking body who uses their gifts and talents to the glory of The King.
The attractive, organized home page is easy to navigate and displays important and current events of the Church’s life. The banner at the top of this page, with pictures of the Church, Pastor and people, is representative of what a visitor will find when they attend.
Navigation links below the banner connect the viewer with available information. The viewer can learn about the Church, its history and its staff. Ministries and upcoming events are explained and shown on the calendar. All information about the Church is up-to-date. Gateway uses their web site as a teaching tool and encourages the salvation of the reader through their “Experience God†link.Â
A gallery of pictures shows the yearly events that take place at Gateway. Of course, Gateway’s Christmas extravaganza is highlighted under the “Events†link with a synopsis of the experience, a schedule of performances and pictorial highlights of last year’s performance.
As you can see from this example, a carefully crafted website like Gateway’s site is an effective tool for serving your congregation and showcasing your church.
