When God Calls You…
August 1st, 2007 by Joan
When God calls you to something, He goes before you and prepares the way, arranges Events in His perfect timing, surrounds you with a heavenly escort, and confirms His presence with signs and wonders. All three of us could sense the presence of the heavenly host as we traveled. The Lord confirmed his call.
- He reminded us of His covenant promises to His people and us with the presence of a spectacular, complete rainbow that traveled up the NJ Turnpike with us for about 15 minutes.
- As we stood on the back porch of the Mt. of Beatitudes, looking out to the Sea of Galilee, a choir sang inside the building while a tour guide read the Beatitudes to his group standing on the porch. The moment brought chills to us.
- The Fins established the hostel we stayed at in Jerusalem for Christians. On the wall of our room was a plaque with Jeremiah 29:11 on it. (“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”) This is the same verse that is written on the soffit of my kitchen at home.
- Despite the fact that there were tour groups all over Israel, as we prepared to pray, the Lord would frequently clear out the spot where we wanted to pray. One particular day at St. Anne’s Cathedral, next to the Pool of Bethesda, we had the entire place to ourselves. The Cathedral is known for its acoustics. We sang praise songs and hymns to the Lord, uninterrupted, for over ½ hour.
