The Lord is calling…
August 9th, 2007 by Joan
The Lord is calling believers from all over the world to prayer walk the land of Israel and to stand in the gap for His people. He is setting up divine appointments for people from different streams and is building communities of faith for the Jewish and Gentile believers in Israel.
- The first morning of our arrival at Beit Bracha (House of Blessing) by the Sea of Galilee, we were introduced to several people who had been praying at the northern border of Israel. We met other people in Jerusalem who have the same call.
- At Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, we met some folks who were part of a group of 300 Scandinavians who were headed for the north of Israel for prayer.
- In Jerusalem we connected with people all over the City who have a heart for Israel and her people. Many are making commitments to stay in the land for extended periods of time to pray and develop relationships with her people.
- Worship of the Lord along with prayer watches is going on in various places throughout the City, and we joined congregations on Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday mornings. In addition, we participated in worship at Succat Hallel, a 24/7 house of worship. Their building overlooks Mt. Zion and has a wonderful vantage point for prayer.
- We were thrilled to discover a John Wesley hymnbook in the lobby of Christ Church, the first Protestant Church to be built in Jerusalem whose mission is to present Jesus as the Jewish Messiah, teach the Gentile church its Jewish heritage and assist with the return of the Jews to their land. The hymnbook was opened to John Wesley’s Zionist Hymn. The words of this hymn explain God’s love and plan for His firstborn and the Church’s call to help bring them home.
- We learned that the number of Messianic Jews in the land is increasing each year. Their hearts are to bring many more of the Jews to faith in Yeshua.
