Contagious Faith — Al Ambrosino

Al AmbrosinoWe dedicate this issue of our newsletter to a wonderful man and friend, Al Ambrosino. A longtime member of New City Gospel Fellowship in New City, NY, Al served as the chair of their building committee until shortly before his early departure to be with his Lord on June 13, 2007.  Those of us at WPH - Architects for Ministry who knew Al feel privileged to have spent time with him and to have worked with him as we planned New City’s building expansion currently under construction.

Al AmbrosinoAl retired from making corporations successful and devoted himself to making his church successful, working alongside his wife, Corrine, the church administrator. Al used his business acumen in the church to raise funds, develop financial plans, work with bankers and plan Events. He was one of his pastor’s best friends and greatest supporters. What struck us most about Al was his unquenchable joy and optimistic faith. It was impossible to be around Al without being affected; he was contagious!

New City ConstructionAccording to Todd, Al dealt with the tough problems at building committee meetings.   He would be smiling, brimming with confidence that God had a solution and there was nothing to worry about. There were times when Todd thought the project would prove to be too big for the church, but Al never doubted. And he was right! God has enabled New City Gospel Fellowship to triple its capacity with a 1,100-seat expansion – largely attributable to the faith of a great man of God; Al Ambrosino.

One of the gifts we have been given, as architects for churches, is that we get to know some amazing men and women of God whose faith is contagious and uplifting.  Al was one of those people.  We thank the Lord for having had the privilege of knowing this man of God.
