In Honor of a Friend

Al AmbrosinoOn Monday, Jeff and I will again be supporting one of clients - New City Gospel Fellowship - in their annual golf / fundraising outing. This year’s event will be mixed with some sadness, as the chair of their building committee, Al Ambrosino, a wonderful man and friend, has journeyed on to be with his Lord. I consider it a privilege to have known Al and to have worked with him over the past few years, planning their building expansion which is currently under construction.

New City ConstructionAl retired from making corporations successful and devoted himself to making his church successful, working alongside his wife of many years (and the church’s administrator), Corrine. Al used his business acumen in the church to raise funds, develop financial plans, work with bankers and plan Events. He was one of his pastor’s best friends and greatest supporters. But the thing that struck me the most about Al was his unquenchable joy and optimistic faith. It was impossible to be around Al without being affected; he was contagious! I recall meetings where we dealt with tough problems and Al would be smiling, brimming with confidence that God had a solution and there was nothing to worry about. There were times that I thought the project would prove too big for the church, but Al never doubted. And he was right. God has enabled New City Gospel Fellowship to triple its capacity with an 1,100 seat expansion – largely attributable to the faith of a great man of God; Al Ambrosino. This year’s golf outing is dedicated to his memory.
